NIH R01 Grant Awarded to Dr. Zhang

Dr. Zhang has received an NIH R01 grant, titled “Protein Markers to Islet Autoimmunity and T1D Progression,” from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK). Currently, Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) affects approximately 1.4 million people in the U.S. The proposed research will identify novel protein markers that can predict T1D and provide further insight into the pathogenesis of this disease.
